CHANAN conducted a project under the title of “Theater to spread voter Education” in which CHANAN conducted street theater events to reach 42536 direct audiences. CHANAN engaged 12 theater teams to perform 668 street theaters in 6 districts of province Punjab and Sindh for Local Government Elections (LGE) 2015 in Punjab and Sindh falling under Phase-I & Phase-II.

In the selected districts under Phase-I of the LGEs, the theater teams performed 352 theater performances, which included 230 theater performances in district Gujrat, 88 theater performances were conducted in district Jacobabad and 34 theaters were conducted in district Kashmore. The theater groups covered 22774 direct audiences including 6915female youth, 6195 male youth, 4267 females over the age of 30 years and 5397 males over the age of 30 years.

In the selected districts under Phase-II of the LGEs, the theater groups performed 316 theater performances, which included 136 theater performances in district Badin, 88 theater performances, were conducted in district Jhelum and 92 theater performances were conducted in district Hafizabad. The theater groups covered 19762 direct audiences of which7084 were female youth, 4988 were male youth, 4109 were females over the age of 30 years and 3581 were males over the age of 30 years.

Youth participation, which included both female and male youth, was 59%, while male and female audience over the age of 30 years of age was 41% male and female audience over 30 year attended the theater events in 6 districts of Punjab and Sindh.
